In May 2014, Wings Of Memory commemorated the 70th anniversary of the crashes of the Halifax and Lancaster bombers. This was celebrated with a ceremony on May 10th at the Geraardsbergen municipal cemetery, attended by the Geraardsbergen fire department, numerous invited guests, military representatives, and then-Minister of Defence Pieter De Crem. The crash of the specific Halifax III LW682 occurred on May 13, 1944, killing all eight crew members.

An exhibition was held in the town hall, and various military vehicles were on display in the Market Square. On May 11th, Wings of Memory was also inducted into the “Brotherhood of Manneken Pis,” which received a Wings of Memory costume.
