In 2018 Wings of Memory brought another piece of aviation and war history to life in Geraardsbergen during the successful 10-day exhibition “70 Years of Defence – Air Force,” part of the KTA – We Fly To Your Dream project.
To conclude the project, Wings of Memory gave a presentation on the activities of our association, supplemented by a historical sketch by our former pilot and hero, Remy “Mony” Van Lierde.
The school’s students created a large-format reproduction of the 426 Squadron emblem, attached to the Halifax bomber from Schendelbeke. This impressive artwork has now been given a prominent place in our museum.
