On August 28, 2021, Wings of Memory met with US Air Force Colonel Isaac Bel, commander of the 335th Fighter Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, at the monument in Zandbergen. He also attended the unveiling of the monument. Together they visited the crash site, after which Colonel Bel also visited the museum. The day concluded in a convivial and respectful atmosphere with drinks.
