On September 8, a monument was unveiled in the center of Wodecq in memory of Floyd Addy.
He was the pilot of Liberator B-24 44-40460 “Won Long Hop,” which lost three of its four engines on June 14, 1944. After ordering his crew to abandon the aircraft, Floyd Addy himself remained at the controls to guide the plane away from the village center of Wodecq, in Hainaut.
However, the aircraft struck a power line and crashed, burning, outside the village. Floyd Addy did not survive the crash. He was buried at the American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.

Wings of Memory supported this initiative.
